Murdered man found along Calabarzon highway

MANILA, Philippines -- The body of a man believed to have been summarily executed was found along the Calabarzon highway in Barangay Sta. Cruz in Sto. Tomas, Batangas earlier this week.
 
According to a report on the Filipino Connection, the body was found Tuesday with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim's hands were bound with a t-shirt when hs remains were found Tuesday morning.
 
A sign accusing the victim of being a drug pusher was also found on the body.
 
Police have yet to identify the victim, who is estimated to be between 35 and 45 years old and between 5'4" to 5'6", because there was no form of identification on him.
 
Police said the victim may have been killed elsewhere and dumped along the highway since no bullets were found at the crime scene.
 
Authorities did recover two sachets of what could be shabu from the body. They said they will continue investigating the crime to find out who the victim was and why he might have been killed.
