P349.4 M quick response fund still available

MANILA, Philippines - Around P349.4 million in disaster quick response fund is available for the rest of the year, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (dswd).

The DSWD said P290 million is with its central office in Quezon City and can be immediately released to the regions when needed.

At least 487,512 family food packs are available in relief hubs and field offices while food and non-food items amounting to P415.8 million are in various warehouses.

The agency said it is also providing assistance to families affected by the southwest monsoon in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon).

Meanwhile, the DSWD said it continues to distribute rice to farmers affected by El Niño in Bukidnon.
