Angat Dam water level below normal despite rains

MALOLOS, Philippines –The water level in Angat Dam has remained below normal despite heavy rains.

Liz Mungcal, executive officer of the Bulacan disaster risk reduction and management office, said the water level even dropped to 179.34 meters as of yesterday morning.

The dam’s normal water level is 210 meters.

At the height of heavy rains spawned by Typhoon Butchoy over Meycauayan, Obando, Bocaue and Marilao on Friday, the water level in Angat Dam was only at 179.35 meters.

The water level in Ipo Dam was also lower than normal. It was recorded at 100.28 meters as of 8 a.m. yesterday or 24 centimeters lower compared to Friday’s 100.52 meters.

The water level in Bustos Dam was at 17.70 meters or 37 centimeters higher compared to Friday’s 17.33 meters.
