Soldier shot dead

CAMARINES NORTE, Philippines – An Army soldier was gunned down by suspected New People’s Army rebels in Matnog, Sorsogon on Tuesday.

Staff Sgt. Jerry Gililo was watching a basketball game in Barangay Pangi when he was shot, said Senior Inspector Malou Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson.

In Barangay Bibincahan in Sorsogon City, Senior Police Officer 2 Rene Enteria, a team leader of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Sorsogon, was wounded in a gun attack.

Enteria was brought to the ?Sorsogon Doctors Hospital for treatment.
