2 boys drown in Iloilo creek

ILOILO CITY, Philippines  – Two nine-year-old boys drowned as they were swimming in a creek in Lambunao, Iloilo on Friday afternoon.

The bodies of Ryan Zedrick Lozada and Christian Agustino were recovered from the bottom of the creek located in the compound of the West Visayas State University.

Reports said the victims, along with two of their classmates, skipped classes at the nearby Don Ignacio Ramirez Memorial Elementary School to celebrate the feast of St. John the Baptist.

Town police chief Inspector Felix Alianza said the two victims dived into the deeper part of the creek.

The other boys decided to seek help when the victims failed to resurface.
