Magnitude 5 quake rocks Davao
MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Saturday reported a magnitude 5.0 earthquake that jolted Davao Oriental.
The tremor with an epicenter traced two kilometers northwest of Governor Generoso town occurred at 2:40 p.m.
It was felt at Intensity 3 in Davao City, Kidapawan City in Cotabato and Alabel town in Sarangani.
The quake had a depth of 36 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.
In its advisory, Phivolcs said there are no damages reported. However, the bureau is expecting aftershocks. – Kristine Daguno-Bersamina
