New Davao City cop chief assumes post
DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The new police chief of this city has assumed his post.
Senior Superintendent Vicente Danao turned over the post to Senior Superintendent Michael Dubria in ceremonies witnessed by president-elect Rodrigo Duterte yesterday.
Danao will reportedly be given another assignment, but he will first report to the Southern Mindanao police office.
As police chief since 2013, Danao said he was able to maintain peace and order in the city, particularly during the elections.
Davao City was named one of the most livable cities in Asia in 2014 and declared the world’s fifth safest city in 2015 by Numbeo.com, a crowd-sourcing survey site.
Danao said Davao City also had the highest crime solution rate.
