BATANGAS, Philippines (The Filipino Connection) – A 29-year-old man jumped to death off a 100 meter high building along Sta. Cruz Street, Barangay Poblacion in Bauan, Batangas on Thursday evening, police said.

PCI Jezreel Calderon, town police chief, identified the victim as Mark Fajardo, a native of Naujan, Oriental Mindoro and a stay in worker at the Caraan building.

Initial police investigation said that at around 10 p.m., the victim reportedly jumped at the roof of the 4th floor of the said building and subsequently, his body fell on a yellow Isuzu pick-up vehicle that was parked unattended at the said street.

Residents later saw him lying naked on the street and reported the matter to authorities.

Responding police officers immediately brought the victim to the Bauan General Hospital but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Doctors said the victim had fractured left ribs, upper and lower teeth, lacerated lower lip. As a result of the fall, he also sustained abrasions and hematoma from upper back to thigh and depression on the left proto temporal area.

Police officials have ruled the victim’s death as suicide and saw no signs of foul play. His remains now lie at the Funeraria Bautista in Bauan.
