4 kids die, 21 hurt in Davao road mishap
MANILA, Philippines - Four children died and 21 others were injured in a road accident in Mati, Davao Oriental on Friday.
The accident occurred in Sitio Waywayan, Barangay Taguibo at around 6:30 a.m., according to the Southern Mindanao police.
The victims were in a truck (LEA-551) when the driver lost control of the wheel.
A report on abs-cbnnews.com identified the fatalities as Donna Mae Saren, 12; Rachelle Manulat, 12; Stephanie Ann Baltonado, 10, and Rhea Jean Domecillo, 10.
In Zamboanga Sibugay, seven persons were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Thursday.
Superintendent Rogelio Alabata, spokesman for the Police Regional Office 9, said a truck collided with another truck then hit a passenger bus along the highway in Purok 3, Barangay Tugpalay in Tungawan town.
The injured were brought to the Tungawan Municipal Health Center then transferred to a hospital for treatment. – Cecille Suerte Felipe, Roel Pareño
