Town exec gunned down

MAGUINDANAO, Philippines – A municipal councilor was shot and killed by unidentified assailants in South Upi town on Friday.

Warlito Pinuela was the second elected official killed in the province in two weeks. He was sitting in front of his home when he was shot.

The victim’s family expressed belief the killing was politically motivated.

Earlier, men armed with rifles shot dead Councilor Hadie Malaguial in Shariff Aguak town.
