1 dead, 7 hurt in road mishap

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A construction worker died while seven others were injured when their dump truck loaded with sacks of cement and construction materials rolled over in Paracelis town in Mountain Province on Sunday.

Senior Superintendent Cornelio Comila, Mountain Province police director, identified the fatality as Jerome Aquino.

Jefferson Legwa, Armando Mercado, Kolas Eia, Dadong Eria, Ekong Gabriel, Ruben Libres and a certain Lakay Tabayuyong of Diaz Construction were injured and brought to the Kalinga Hospital for treatment.

Initial investigation showed the driver lost control of the wheel as he was driving down the road in Sitio Pandan, Barangay Bacarri.
