Phillip Salvador removed from Bulacan voters list
MALOLOS, Philippines – The Court of Appeals (CA) has affirmed the decision of a local court removing the name of actor Phillip Salvador from the list of registered voters in Marilao, Bulacan.
In a 14-page decision penned by CA Associate Justice Ramon Garcia and concurred by Associate Justices Myra Garcia Fernandez and Nina Antonio-Valenzuela, the special 15th Division of the appellate court said they find “no compelling reason” to reverse or modify the ruling of the Bulacan Regional Trial Court (RTC).
The Bulacan RTC earlier said Salvador is not a resident of Marilao, Bulacan and “is not qualified to vote therein.”
Six residents of Barangay Sta. Rosa 2 filed the petition to exclude Salvador from the voters list last year.
Joey Inocencio, counsel of the petitioners, told a press conference yesterday that they were trying to secure a copy of the CA ruling.
Salvador is the running-mate of gubernatorial bet Josefina de la Cruz. They are running under the Nationalist People’s Coalition.
