CSC gears for HR symposium

Michael Punongbayan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is preparing to hold what it described as the largest gathering of human resource (HR) practitioners in Cebu City.

Themed “Managing Transitions in Strategic Human Resource and Organization Development,” the 2016 Public Sector HR Symposium will be held from May 23 to 25 at the Waterfront Hotel.

The event will bring together local and international resource speakers who will talk about the best practices, tools and techniques in managing transition.

The Australian government, through the Philippine-Australia Human Resource and Organizational Development Facility, helped the CSC organize the event.

Last year, more than 1,800 HR practitioners from public and private sectors attended the symposium, which was also held in Cebu.

Speakers for this year’s event include Cultural Center of the Philippines board of trustees chairman Emily Abrera, Ayala Automotive Holdings Corp. president and chief executive officer John Philip Orbeta, Pulse Asia Research Inc. president Ronald Holmes, Queensland University of Technology director for human resource department Nicole Bunning, University of New England professor John Rice and University of Newcastle senior lecturer Jennifer Waterhouse.
