P100-M shabu seized in QC sting
MANILA, Philippines - At least 20 kilos of shabu (methampetamine hydrochloride) with a street value of P100 million were seized by agents of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group in a buy-bust operation in Timog Avenue in Quezon City early Saturday.
A report from the NCRPO said seven persons, including a 12-year-old girl, were also arrested during the sting that happened at about 1:55 a.m. in Barangay South Triangle.
The report identified those arrested as Ruel Balacuit, Fe Balacuit, James Lumpong, Samia Sultan, Akmad Bato, Rhoniel Balacuit and the 12-year-old girl.
Seized from the suspects were five kilos of shabu and the marked buy-bust money.
Another 15 kilos of shabu were taken from the suspects' gray Toyota Vios with plate number PII-948 and green Lancer sedan with plate number WPP-466.
Charges for illegal drug possession and trafficking are now being readied against the arrested suspects.
Police said the suspects were placed under surveillance before the buy-bust. Police is also tracing the source of the seized drugs.
