Fire razes residential area in Tondo

MANILA, Philippines – A fire that reached fifth alarm hit a residential area in Tondo, Manila, before dawn on Sunday.

TXT Fire Philippines, a volunteer firefighting group, at 1:31 a.m. confirmed that a fire caught a residential area in Balot, Tondo, Manila which reached fifth  alarm around 2:02 a.m.

A television report said the fire burned down 100 houses and temporarily displaced residents in Manila. They were evacuated to barangay halls in Balot.

The authorities’ investigation report said the fire started from a faulty electrical wiring.

According to TXT Fire, the fire was under control 2:55 a.m. and was declared out by 4:43 a.m.
