World Bank to fund Bataan road

BAGAC, Bataan, Philippines  – The World Bank has approved a 170-million loan for the concreting of a bypass road in Barangay San Antinio-Saysain here.

The project will be implemented under the Philippine Rural Development Program, Bagac municipal administrator Nick Ancheta told The STAR.

Ancheta said the project would provide access to undeveloped lands and benefit hundreds of upland farmers.

He said the opening of the bypass road, which would be connected to the 40-kilometer Bagac-Mariveles coastline, is also seen to boost tourism in the municipality.
