1 injured, SUV damaged by debris falling from Mandarin Oriental demolition

MANILA, Philippines - An Australian woman was injured while a Toyota Fortuner sports utility vehicle was damaged after debris came showering during the demolition of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Makati City Friday afternoon.

A report reaching the Makati Police identified the injured woman as Suzanne Mellor. Police said Mellor was rushed to the Makati Medical Center at about 1:35 p.m.

The demolition of the old hotel also temporarily crippled traffic along Makati Avenue and Paseo de Roxas.
