Batangas councilor dies of heart attack

BATANGAS, Philippines – A municipal councilor in Ibaan town who had complained of chest pains, suffered a heart attack and figured in an accident on the way to the hospital yesterday.

Councilor Israel Blanco’s son, Benigno, was driving his father to the Queen Mary Hospital on a motorcycle when he lost control of the wheel and rammed into a concrete fence, said Police Officer 2 Geronimo Sanchez.

The elder Blanco was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
