Jealous man takes partner hostage

URDANETA CITY, Philippines – A man landed in jail after he allegedly took his partner and two other persons hostage in this city on Monday.

Armed with a gun and a grenade, Ruben Alcansiado, 42, locked up his partner, a three-year-old boy and a 60-year-old woman at the sexagenarian’s house in Barangay Tipuso.

City police chief Superintendent Jeff Fanged said Alcansiado demanded to talk to a son of the elderly hostage, whom he suspected to be having an affair with his partner.

Police negotiated with Alcansiado, who decided to surrender after an hour.

His partner suffered injuries in the neck.
