LIST: Metro Manila roads closed for APEC events

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED Nov. 20, 2015)— The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) recently announced the closure of several roads to give way to delegates arriving in Manila for the 2015 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) events slated from November 16 to 20.

Number coding scheme, truck ban, and parking.

In its advisory, the MMDA said the number-coding scheme will still be strictly implemented, as well as the daytime truck ban on the south truck routes.

Trucks will only be allowed to use the route from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. except in Roxas Boulevard where a 24-hour truck ban will be implemented from November 17 to 20.

MMDA said parking along Roxas Boulevard service road from TM Kalaw to Pres. Quirino will not be allowed from November 16 to 20.

Closed roads

Roxas Boulevard (November 16 to 20)

  • From Katigbak to Manila International Airport / Ninoy Aquino International Airport Road) — both directions
  • Stretch of Roxas Boulevard north and south bound lane from Katigbak to P. Ocampo

  • Stretch of Quirino Avenue from Roxas Boulevard to Adriatico Street

  • Stretch of Century Park Street from Adriatico to Mabini Street

  • Stretch of Mabini Street from P. Ocampo to Quirino Avenue

  • Southbound lane of Adriatico from Quirino Avenue to Century Park Street

  • Stretch of P. Ocampo from Adriatico to Roxas Boulevard

  • Stretch of M.H. del Pilar Street from Sta. Monica Street to Gen. Marval Street

  • Stretch of Pedro Gil Street from Roxas Boulevard to Mabini Street

  • Stretch of Roxas Boulevard service road from Kalaw Street to P. Ocampo Street.

Alternate route 1

  • Southbound - From P. Burgos, take Orosa Street. Turn right at Kalaw Avenue turn left at M. H. Del Pilar left at Quirino Avenue turn right at F.B. Harrison to EDSA, to destination.
  • North bound - From EDSA turn right at F.B Harrison, straight to Mabini Street, right at Kalaw Avenue turn left at Orosa Street to P. Burgos to destination.

Alternate route 2

  • Northbound and southbound - From EDSA turn right at Taft Avenue to Manila City Hall to destination and vice versa.

Rerouting of vehicles 

  • All vehicles coming from northern part of Manila or Pier zone intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall turn left to P. Burgos right to Ma. Orosa or Taft Avenue to point of destination.

  • All vehicles coming from southern part of Manila intending to utilize the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall turn right to Buendia, turn left to Taft Avenue to point of destination

  • All vehicles utilizing P. Ocampo coming from Taft Avenue shall turn right to Adriatico, turn right to Leveriza to Quirino Avenue to point of destination

  • All vehicles travelling westbound lane of Pres. Quirino coming from Osmeña Highway (Plaza Dilao) area going to Roxas Boulevard shall turn right or left to Taft Avenue to point of destination

  • All vehicles coming from Del Pilar Street intending to utilize Roxas Boulevard shall left to Quirino Avenue going to Taft Avenue

  • All vehicles utilizing Del Pilar Street coming from TM Kalaw shall turn left to Sta. Monica right to Mabini to point of destination

From CCP Complex (November 16 to 20)

  • Vicente Sotto Street
  • Bukaneg Street
  • J.W. Diokno Boulevard Bridge
  • Buendia Avenue -  Extension
  • M. Jalandoni Street

 

EDSA APEC Lanes exclusive for delegates (November 16 to 20)

  • Two innermost lanes from Shaw Boulevard to Roxas Boulevard – both directions
  • Vehicles are advised to avoid EDSA Ortigas Ave to Roxas Boulevard – both directions

Around Ayala Avenue (November 16 and 17 only, 3 to 11 p.m.)

  • Ayala Avenue West Bound Lanes Makati Avenue to Paseo de Roxas

Around Ayala Center (November 16 to 19)

  • Ayala Center portions of North Street, West Street and Parkway Drive 

Around Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena (November 18 only)

Starting at 6:00 a.m. onwards

  • Diokno corner Seaside Boulevard
  • Coral Way corner Seaside Boulevard
  • EDSA corner Macapagal
  • Macapagal corner Coral Way
  • Diokno corner Aseana
  • Macapagal corner Bradco

Alternate route: PUB

  • From EDSA take a U-turn before EDSA corner Diokno or take Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard to Baclaran / destination – 2.17 kilometers

Alternate route: To MOA, for private and public utility vehicles

  • From EDSA right at Macapagal Boulevard left at Seaside Boulevard to SM MOA – 1.45 kilometers

Alternate Route: From MOA, for private and public utility vehicles

  • From SM MOA take Seaside Boulevard left at Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard left at Gil Puyat Avenue (Buendia Avenue) to destination.
  • From SM MOA take Seaside Boulevard right at Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard left at EDSA to destination.
Temporary Roads Closed for Nov. 20, 2015 (Friday)

The lockdown remains in effect until 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. Due to the delegates’ changed flight schedules the MMDA advised the public of closed and areas and an enforced stop and go scheme.?

  • Roxas Boulevard from Manila Hotel P. Burgos to NAIA Road
  • EDSA-Ayala Boulevard to Arnaiz Avenue to Magallanes Complex (until 10 a.m.)
