Teacher shot dead in front of students

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A 21-year-old teacher was shot dead in front of his students in Rosario, La Union over the weekend.

Michael Tumabcao of the Union Institute of Rosario and his students were walking toward an eatery in Barangay Tay-ac when the assailant shot him at past 7:30 p.m.

Tumabcao and his students had just come from a basketball practice when he was shot, according to town deputy police chief Senior Inspector Roy Villanueva.

The victim died while being rushed to the Rosario District Hospital.

Villanueva said probers were eyeing a love triangle as motive for the killing.
