SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – Members of a search and rescue team yesterday continued to search for seven fishermen who went missing at the height of Tropical Storm Kabayan in Aurora over the weekend.

The Office of the Civil Defense in Central Luzon said members of the Philippine Army, municipal disaster risk reduction office and Baler Fisher Folk Association joined the search for the missing fishermen.

Reports said 14 men on board nine fishing vessels went out to fish on Thursday morning. Half of them were rescued on Friday.

Meanwhile, the OCD reported that Kabayan affected 3,318 families or 15,796 persons in 38 villages in Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija and Zambales.

As of yesterday, three villages in Marilao, nine in Meycauayan, two in Bocaue and six in Balagtas, all in Bulacan, remained flooded.

So were the five villages in Laur, seven in Cuyapo, three in Rizal and 12 in Bongabon, all in Nueva Ecija, and six barangays in Macabebe, Pampanga.

Kabayan destroyed at least a hundred houses in Baler, Aurora, the OCD said.
