Salceda to run for Congress

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines  – Albay Gov. Joey Salceda will join the congressional race for the province’s second district in 2016.

Salceda’s candidacy is expected to bring development to Albay and deliver votes for Mar Roxas, the standard bearer of the administration’s Liberal Party (LP).

Salceda said his decision to run was based on the recommendations of local LP members and to help the party get support from the province.

He said this could be achieved if unity exists among LP candidates.

“We want to have political unity in Albay. We will not be able to achieve our goals for the province if we are not united,” Salceda said.
