Fire razes PDEA annex building in QC

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency has been conducting several anti-illegal drug operations in various parts of the country. 
MANILA, Philippines - Fire broke out inside a room at the annex building of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Quezon City Wednesday morning.
 
PDEA Director General Arturo Cacdac Jr. said the blaze started around 8 a.m. at room 212, which serves as a barracks for the agency's personnel. 
 
Cacdac said thick smoke was billowing from the room, which alerted some personnel who were coming to report to work.
 
He said his men were able to save important documents and pieces of evidence of the drug cases inside the building.
 
Firefighters managed to put out the flames around 9:20 a.m. 
 
No one was hurt during the blaze.
 
PDEA will make an inventory of the items and documents inside the building and will conduct a parallel investigation into the fire.
