Farmer, soldier gunned down in Isabela

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A farmer and an Army sergeant were gunned down in separate incidents in Isabela province on Tuesday.

Lorenzo Barbon, 54, was drying palay along the road in Barangay Alibadabad in San Mariano town when he was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen, San Mariano police chief Senior Inspector Bonifacio Gannaban said yesterday.

Police recovered bullet shells for a caliber. 45 pistol at the scene.

Meanwhile, Roy Gapay was having a drinking session in Barangay San Jose when an unidentified gunman shot him at close range.

Investigations are underway.
