50-cent fare rollback in Bicol OK’d

MANILA, Philippines - The Land Transportation, Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) recently approved a 50-cent fare rollback in the Bicol region.

From P8, the minimum fare in the region is now at P7.50 for the first four kilometers.  An additional P1.40 will be charged per succeeding kilometer.

Petitioners earlier pushed for a P1 fare rollback, citing a series of reductions in fuel prices.

The board reminded drivers to comply with a policy giving fare discounts to students, senior citizens and persons with disability.
