MMDA puts up P100K reward vs. Maserati driver

Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has put up a P100,000 cash reward to anyone who could provide information on the whereabouts of the sports car driver who mauled and dragged a traffic enforcer in Quezon City, on Thursday.

In an interview with ABS-CBN's "Umagang Kay Ganda,"  MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said he wants to resolve the case of the manhandling of traffic enforcer Jorbe Adriatico by businessman Joseph Russell Ingco.

Ingco reportedly punched Adriatico on the face. He also grabbed the traffic enforcer shirt as he drove away on his blue Maserati Ghibli, dragging Ingco several meters.

Adriatico sustained a broken nose and bruises on the body from the incident.

Tolentino appealed to Ingco to voluntarily surrender to authorities, assuring him that he would not be harmed.

"Ginagarantiya po naman natin ang kanyang safety. Kung natatakot siya na magkaroon ng verbal abuse o saktan. Huwag po niya isipin 'yun," the MMDA head said.

"Nakakasiguro po siya na igagalang din ng kapulisan ang kanyang mga karapatan," Tolentino added.

Tolentino said that they received information that Ingco has gone into hiding and that the businessman is somewhere in Bulacan province.

He said that he will not let Adriatico make an out of court settlement with Ingco regarding the incident.

"Kung aaregluhin lang 'yan, hindi halos wala na tayong batas na pinatutupad. Ang gusto po natin mangyari dito, unang-una siguro ma-revoke ang lisensya nito ni Mr. Ingco," Tolentino said, adding that he also requested authorities to revoke the gun license of the suspect if he has any firearm registered with the Philippine National Police.
