Duterte gives P1M to Pastor slay case informant

MANILA, Philippines - Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on Monday announced that he has awarded the P1 million reward to the informant that led authorities to the alleged killer of race car driver Enzo Pastor.

Chief Superintendent Wilben Mayor, Philippine National Police spokesman, said Duterte made the announcement during Monday morning's flag-raising rite at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame in Quezon City.

"Sinabi niya during his speech na ibinigay na niya doon sa informant," Mayor said.

Mayor said Duterte was their guest of honor in the flag-raising ceremony.

The police spokesman, meanwhile, belied that Duterte's presence at the event has something to do with politics as some groups have been pushing the Davao City mayor to run in the 2016 presidential race.

Duterte had insisted that he plans to retire and would let his daughter Sara to run for the mayoral post.
