The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Operations of the Metro Rail Transit 3 were partially disrupted on Wednesday night due to a man reportedly attempting to commit suicide at the system's Guadalupe station in Makati City.

Hernando Cabrera, MRT spokesman, announced on his Twitter account that the system was on halfline operations, from North Avenue to Shaw stations only, as of 6:10 p.m.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, meanwhile, tweeted that "a man was seen on the railings" of Guadalupe station as of 5:50 p.m.

It said the situation at the Guadalupe station is a "possible suicide attempt."

The MMDA said it has sent a rescue team in the area.
