Teacher found dead in canal

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A public school teacher, believed to be a victim of a carjacking ring, was found dead in an irrigation canal in Cordon town, Isabela yesterday morning.

The body of Lawrence Andres, 33, of Bugallon-Andarayan Elementary School in Cauayan City, bore several stab wounds when found in Barangay Taringsing, said Chief Inspector Rogelio Taliping, town police chief.

Andres’ family said he bid goodbye to them last Friday to attend a seminar. The victim’s car, wallet and cell phone were reported missing.
