Cops nab bus hostage-taker on NLEX

MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested a man who took hostage 13 bus passengers along the North Luzon Expressway in Bulacan, early Monday.

Investigators said the hostage-taker, identified as Larry Miranda, got on the Everlasting bus in Cauayan town in Isabela province.

Without any apparent reason, Miranda pulled out a knife and took hostage his fellow passengers.

Policemen were able to pin down Miranda after wrestling for his knife at the Sta. Rita entry of the expressway. A policeman was hurt during the scuffle.

The suspect has been brought to the Guiguinto Police Station for questioning.
