P150K worth of shabu seized in Laguna buy bust

MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested two men during a buy bust operation in Laguna, seizing P150,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.

PDEA Director General Arturo Cacdac Jr. said authorities nabbed Arnel Elbo, 42; and Binsar Salem, 30, during the sting operation.

Belated reports reaching the PDEA main office in Quezon City showed that last September 3, an undercover agent managed to transact with the two men outside a fast food chain store in Sta. Cruz, Laguna around 4 a.m.

Upon a pre-arranged signal, elements of PDEA Regional Office (RO) 4A immediately pounced on the suspects after they handed over the illegal drug contained inside a rectangular plastic sachet weighing approximately 50 grams.

When frisked, the suspects yielded two mobile phones and the P500 used as marked money during the operation.

Elbo and Salem are now temporarily detained at the PDEA RO4A jail facility, while seized pieces of drug evidence were brought to the PDEA RO4A laboratory for analysis.
