Cop dead in Quezon City ambush

MANILA, Philippines —  A police official on Monday was killed after three motorcycle-riding gunmen ambushed him in Quezon City.

Reports reaching the Quezon City Police District said that Police Senior Inspector Roderick Medrano was on board his car around 7 a.m. when he was waylaid at San Diego Drive, Zabarte Road, Novaliches.

Bystanders managed to bring Medrano, who is assigned at the Police Station 4 in Novaliches, to a nearby hospital but doctors could no longer revive the victim.

Authorities are still looking at the motive of the killing of the police official.
