1 dead as truck plows through QC traffic - report

MANILA, Philippines  - A delivery boy of a fast food chain on Thursday was killed after accidentally being ran over by a wayward 10-wheeler truck in Quezon City.
 
According to a radio report, the truck, laden with sand, lost its brakes and hit Archie Gaerlan, who was on board his delivery motorcycle, around 4:30 a.m.on the corner of Congressional and Mindanao avenues.
 
The truck, driven by Jay Atencio, came from Porac, Pampanga and was going to Taguig City when the accident happened, the report added.
 
The report said that four other vehicles, which were at the stoplight, were also damaged during the accident.
 
Atencio is now in the custody of traffic personnel for investigation.
