Eastmincom, Solcom to get new chief

MANILA, Philippines - The Army’s 3rd Infantry Division (ID) chief Maj. Gen. Aurelio Baladad has been appointed chief of the Eastern Mindanao Command.

He will assume his post on Sept. 5.

Baladad will replace Lt. Gen. Rainer Cruz, who will take over the Southern Luzon Command in Bicol.

His successor at the 3rd ID has yet to be appointed, but among those being considered for the post are AFP deputy chief of staff for operations Maj. Gen. Oscar Lactao and Army chief of staff Maj. Gen. Rey Leonardo Guerrero.
