Truck falls into ravine; 1 dead, 18 hurt

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A woman was killed and 18 others were injured when the truck they were riding fell into a ravine along the highway in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur on Wednesday, a police official said. 

Rosaria Encarnacion, 57, died on the spot while two of the injured passengers were in serious condition, said Senior Superintendent Sofronio Elcadre, Zamboanga del Sur police director.

He said initial investigation showed that the driver lost control of the vehicle because the road was slippery from heavy rains.
