2 dead, 26 hurt in jeepney crash in Antipolo

MANILA, Philippines - Two persons were killed and 26 others were wounded after a passenger jeep slammed into a gasoline station's wall along Marcos Highway in Antipolo City, Rizal province on Friday.

Radio reports identified the fatalities as certain Miguel Potol and Diana Luning.

Meanwhile, 24 of the injured passengers were rushed to the Amang Rodriguez Hospital.

Initial reports said that the jeepney was speeding along the highway in Masinag area when the driver, identified as Arturo Ramirez, lost control of the vehicle.

An investigations on the accident is ongoing.
