Squatters form human barricade along Quezon Avenue

MANILA, Philippines - Informal settlers on Monday formed a human barricade at the corner of Quezon Avenue and Agham Road in Quezon City, causing a traffic jam in the area.

Reports said the informal settlers, mostly men, blocked the flow of traffic to protest the impending demolition by the city government of their makeshift houses along Agham Road.
 
The traffic build-up in the area reached the Elliptical Road, one of the busiest thoroughfares in the city.
 
Police were negotiating with the informal settlers to clear the area.
