Dengue kills 3 kids in Iloilo
ILOILO, Philippines – Dengue has claimed the lives of three children aged 3 to 5 in a week’s time in Cabatuan town, bringing the number of fatalities of the mosquito-borne disease in the province to six.
As of April 27, records of the provincial health office show 665 dengue cases had been recorded in the province, or an increase of 193 percent compared to the first four months of 2012.
Of Iloilo’s one component city and 42 towns, only the municipality of Batad remains dengue-free. Banate town accounted for the most number of dengue cases at 68 with one death.
