Seventeen brings serenity and rose quartz ocean to Manila

MANILA, Philippines — From remarkably in-sync performances to charming fan services, K-pop boy group Seventeen made sure every Carat shone during the last leg of its Diamond Edge tour in Manila.

Screams filled the Mall of Asia Arena Friday night the moment the group entered the stage in regal and colorful suits to perform its fun opening numbers “Pretty U,” “Beautiful” and “Adore U.”

If the idea of a 13-member group singing while dancing in perfect synchronization seems unreal, Seventeen proved that it can perform as a cohesive team as it performed its hits “Very Nice,” “Mansae” and “Boom Boom” with so much energy and excitement.

Dubbed as a “triple-threat” group, the guys of Seventeen showcased their multi-faceted talents as they performed with their respective sub-units.

The performance unit (Jun, Hoshi, Dino and The8) wowed the concert goers with the impressively-choreographed “Swimming Fool” and “Highlight.”

The hip hop team (Mingyu, Wonwoo, Vernon and S.Coups) turned up the crowd by spitting sick beats with “Check In” and “If I.”

MOA Arena transformed into an ocean of rose quartz and serenity as the vocal unit (Joshua, DK, Woozi, Seungkwan and Jeonghan) serenaded the Carats with the ballads “Don’t Listen in Secret” and “We’re Gonna Make it Shine.”

One of the highlights of the show was the sensual and visually-fascinating contemporary dance of the two Chinese members, Jun and The8.

The chants were the loudest when Seventeen performed its most recent single, the EDM-inspired “Don’t Wanna Cry.”

After spending hours drenched in sweat from constant dancing and singing, the members of Seventeen never stopped smiling  even as they sang their last song, “Healing.”

Throughout the concert, Seventeen and Carats expressed their genuine affection for one another.

Mingyu said the Filipino Carats created a wonderful memory that the boys will never forget.

The leader S.Coups expressed how much they treasure the love and support they receive from fans.

“If you promise to stand by us, we promise you that we will stand by your side,” he said.
