Gloc 9 now under PPL, prepares for big concert

MANILA, Philippines - Gloc 9 is busy preparing for a big concert this coming November as he moved to Perry P. Lansigan's talent management.

The singer-songwriter closed a deal with PPL a week before the talent management fifth anniversary celebration on September 9.

Gloc 9 was managed by his wife Thea, who is a friend of Lansigan.

“Nang ginawa namin 'yong Sirena, para makuha si sir Boy Abunda, si Perry ang tumulong sa amin,” he  recalled in a recent interview. “So sabi sa akin ni Thea, 'maybe it's time na kailangan natin ng help mula sa ibang tao,' 'tas binanggit niya nga si Perry, so okay naman ako kay Perry.”

His career plan is more or less still similar with what his wife has planned for him. The only difference is “with Perry's expertise sa mga bagay na hindi rin kami gano'n kabihasa, matutulungan talaga kami ni Perry. Tsaka if ever, mas magiging okay din talaga pagdating sa mga bagong opportunities for me.”

Meanwhile, one of the big projects that Gloc 9 is working on at the moment is his upcoming concert with Rico Blanco and Yeng Constantino dubbed “ICON,” happening on November 21 at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Gloc 9 said that doing a big concert is not really on his bucket list, but he agreed to the project when informed that it would be with Rico and Yeng.

“Alam ko na very mitikuloso si Yeng at si Rico pagdating sa music nila, and gano'n din ako sa craft ko,” he said about working with the two artists. “Kung anu't ano man, magkakatulungan talaga kami, e, pagdating sa pagpili ng line up, sa execution ng songs, ngakakatulungan kami talaga sa concert.”

Though excited, the 36-year-old rapper said he still feels nervous about the concert.

“Nerbiyoso talaga ako,” he said, laughing. Though he explained that being nervous before a performance is “a good sign.”

“Lagi ngang sinasabi sa akin, ang pagiging nerbiyoso bago mag-perform ay iang magandang senyales, kasi ibig sabihin no'n excited ka sa trabaho mo, masaya ka pa sa trabaho mo,” he said.

“Kapag dumating sa point na bale wala na lang sa 'yo, medyo hindi 'yon magandang sign. So ninenerybiyos ako and at the same time, kailangan ko lang ma-tame 'yong pagkanerbiyos ko para di maka-affect sa performance ko.”
