Cine Europa now a lady!

MANILA, Philippines – Cine Europa is now on its eighteenth year, and chose to celebrate this by featuring films that tackle stories about coming of age.

Twenty-three movies are part of this year’s festival which were from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, The United Kingdom, Norway and Switzerland.

The films for this year’s festival are "Rise Up!" from Austria; "In Faith, Love, and Whiskey" from Bulgaria; "The Legend of Paul and Paula" and "Suck me Shakespeer" from Germany; "Totally True Love" from Norway; "Little Baby Jesus" from Czech Republic; "Puppy Love" and "Gilles" from Belgium; "Ovosodo" from Italy; "15 Years and One Day" and "Ginger and Cinnamon" from Spain; "Corpse Must Die" from Slovakia; "La Belle Vie" from France; "Antboy" from Denmark; "Finn" from The Netherlands; "Wedding" from Romania; "Keep Rollin'" from Switzerland; "Naked Harbour" from Finland; "Stockholm Stories" from Sweden; "Pride" from The United Kingdom; "Miasto 44" and "ida" from Poland; lastly "Live" from Romania.

Aside for films from Europe, the festival will also screen six Filipino films that were directed by Jorel Lising, Pamela Reyes, Martika Escobar, Baby Ruth Villarama- Gutierrez, Pepe Diokno and Ida Anita del Mundo whose films were screened in various European festivals.

Cine Europa also expanded its screening to more venues this year. Choose the perfect venue and date for you in the list below.

Film Development Council of the Philippines, Baguio City Cinematheque: September 22-27
Ilo-Ilo City Cinematheque: September 29- October 4
Ayala Center Cebu: October 9 to 11
Zamboanga Cinematheque: October 13-18
University of the Philippines- Tacloban: October 21-25
Film Development Council of the Philippines Davao: November 3-8
Visayas State University- Leyte: November 10-15
Liceo de Cagayan University- Cagayan de Oro: November 18-22
