All That Glitters in Cebu

In preparation for the coming holiday season, talented and artistic cousins Amanda Luym, creative head and Cacay Moras-Server, chief finance officer of All that Glitters (ATG) recently launched and introduced 11 jewelry collections at the 32 Sanson Sales lounge.
The two-day event featured design elements that were inspired by the 20th mid-century and modernism era. Amanda’s vision was to create jewelry that would pair well with experimental pieces by famous designers that departed from previous types of established fashion codes.
“I was looking at a lot of movements like German Bauhaus and Brutalist architecture, alongside the couture of the era, like Balenciaga, Givenchy, and Pierre Cardin,” she explained.
The Themyscira collection was the bestseller, having sold out all the items. The pieces comprise of sapphire gems that come in assorted colors, eccentric cuts and 925 sterling silver dipped in 24k yellow gold. New innovative design elements have been incorporated with the collection, creating a wider visual for the designer to draw from as ATG’s line develops further.
The showcase ended with an almost sold-out display and guests went home satisfied wearing lavish ATG jewelry .The constantly emerging. Ever-evolving collection of jelwelry fashioned to shine but not outshine the wearer is expected to release its next line by the first quarter of 2018.

Due to the untimely demise of Dr. Potenciano V. Larrazabal Jr. founder and president of Cebu Doctor’s University for the last 44 years, his son Dr. Philip Anthony SD Larrazabal was thrust into the leadership post and was installed as the second president of CDU recently.
The investiture, which followed revered tradition and academic protocol, was held at the Metropolitan Cebu Cathedral. During the ceremony, Dr. Philip took his oath of office before Commission of Higher Education, Commissioner Dr. Lilian de las Llagas. After the processional march, a holy Mass was celebrated by Monsignor Roberto Alesna followed by a dinner reception at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel.
