Tim Ho Wan opens at SM Seaside City Cebu
Tim Ho Wan, Hong Kong’s famous Michelin-star dim sum restaurant, opened its seventh branch in the Philippines and first outside Luzon at the Mountain Wing of Cebu SM Seaside City.
In attendance were Foodee Global Concepts president Rikki Dee and Tim Ho Wan Philippines chief financial officer Johnson Chan. Joining them for the ribbon cutting were Shopping Center Management Corporation president Annie S. Garcia, senior vice president Steven T. Tan and SM Prime Holdings vice president Marissa Fernan.
“We are happy to be here in Cebu and add to the vibrant dining scene of the city,” said Rikki Dee. “What we offer is a brand with the best value for money, for those looking for an authentic Hong Kong dim sum experience.”
An auspicious lion and dragon dance ushered in the festivities as guests enjoyed savoring Cantonese delights the restaurant is famous for. These included the wasabi prawn, spare ribs, vermicelli roll with BBQ pork and braised chicken feet with abalone sauce,steamed egg cake and pan-fried radish cake.
The brainchild of chefs Mak Kwai Pui and Leung Fai Keung, Tim Ho Wan began in 2009 in a 20-seater hole-in-the-wall eatery in the bustling Mong Kok district. The restaurant gained much recognition after earning the most coveted star in 2010 from the Hong Kong and Macau Michelin guide.
