Chasing a rainbow

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton - The Philippine Star
Chasing a rainbow

Russian Embassy Manila Minister-Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission Vadim Velikanov, Lolita Mirpuri, Natalya Bronzova, Maria Fema Duterte, Ditas Posadas, Ambassador Victor Garcia and wife Connie

Russian artist Natalya Bronzova recently held an exhibition titled “Rainbow of My Soul” at Chef Jessie in Rockwell, Makati City. Natalya, a philology and history graduate who has written several books on art and history, is a true connoisseur and scholar. She has also arranged many symposiums for international artists in places like Canada, Turkey and Malaysia, and has organized the inauguration of over 30 bronze monuments all over the world. Now, it’s her turn to show her masterpieces to the world. Her exhibition “From Russian Soul with Love” was also exhibited at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), making her the first Russian artist to have her works displayed on the premier showcase of the arts in the country. Many art lovers who attended the “Rainbow of My Soul” exhibit were inspired by her works, and this is surely just the beginning of even greater things for Natalya.

Fifty years of love, music and theater

Repertory Philippines (REP) recently celebrated its 50th anniversary via the phenomenal event Rep: 50 Years of Telling Stories held at The Theatre at Solaire Resort in Parañaque City. A star-studded evening of music and dancing went underway as the leading names in theater gathered together for the company’s grand musical gala. Rep president and CEO Mindy Perez-Rubio opened the show by thanking the audience and acknowledging how rare it is to have the biggest theater stars be part of one production, as the performers of the night included acclaimed artists who trace their roots back to Rep. Also in attendance were Rep’s board members, chairman emeritus and artistic director emeritus Baby Barredo, artistic director Joy Virata and Junie Peña. Board members Bart Guingona and Miguel Faustmann served as overall director and segment director, respectively. The seven suites in the show were also interpreted and directed by Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Raymond Lauchengco, Audie Gemora, Michael Williams, Jaime del Mundo and Freddie Santos.
