Life’s little treasures

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton - The Philippine Star

Happiness is in the details. Jewelmer Joaillerie has come out with a collection that reminds us to revel in life’s simple pleasures. Aptly named Petits bonheurs, the charms capture those everyday moments that perfectly come together to create a day filled with beauty and joy.  Golden South Sea pearl pendants are playfully adorned with 18-karat gold charms that represent happiness — from a peaceful walk in the garden, the excitement of discovering the world to delightful sweet indulgences. The latest collection is another exciting offer from the international luxury brand of exquisite South Sea pearl jewelry spearheaded by group EVP and deputy CEO Jacques Christophe Branellec, SVP and creative director Gaelle Branellec, and executive marketing manager Tricie Legarda.    For information, visit www.jewelmer.com.

Kids rule at Bellevue

Families from different parts of the metro gathered at the Laguna Ballroom of The Bellevue Manila for the launch of the Bellevue Kids Club, an exclusive membership program of The Bellevue Hotels and Resorts (BH&R). Open to kids 12 years old and below, the Bellevue Kids Club is “an initiative launched to fulfill the company’s commitment to uphold the Filipino family and to celebrate what it symbolizes.” Registration to the club is free and kids may register in any of the restaurants at The Bellevue Manila. It was definitely a fun and memorable afternoon for the whole family as exciting games and activities were lined up for the kids and parents alike. Indak Lahi gave outstanding performances of several well-known Philippine folk dances while Museo Pambata staged a historical shadow play. Also enjoying the festivities with the guests was The Bellevue Manila managing director Patrick Chan together with his wife Denice and son Gab

Marketing the Filipino craftsman

MaArte, a fair showcasing the best of the Filipino craft and artisanship, returns to Rockwell for the eighth season on Aug. 26 to 28, at the 8 Rockwell Penthouse. The annual fundraiser organized by the Museum Foundation of the Philippines, has become the most prominent craft fair in the country after the CITEM international market organized by the Department of Trade and Industry. It is for a good cause: to raise funding to support the National Museum, as well as making “export” quality products accessible to the retail market. Over 70 selected retailers has joined the collective, each craftsman featured has a story to tell, and each item sold takes on techniques that were passed on by generations from different parts of the country. The foundation is headed by Maritess Pineda as president with Armita Rufino, Cedie Vargas, Mel Francisco and Susie Quiros completing the steering committee.
