SB Furniture launches new collections from Thailand

CRAZY QUILT - Tanya T. Lara - The Philippine Star

No one really knows what the letters stand for in SB Furniture, but there are many guesses, all of which reference the aesthetic of the furniture company. There’s “Simply Beautiful,” “Spaces of Beauty” and “Style on a Budget” and all of them are true.

In a market saturated with both very expensive designer furniture from Italy and inexpensive ones that lack quality, SB Furniture falls somewhere in the middle. You can see some of their pieces in the bedrooms of Ascott at The Fort.

SB is the biggest furniture retailer and manufacturer in Thailand and has been turning houses into dream homes for over 40 years. The brand is present in 20 countries around the world and has been in Manila for over eight years with more than 1,000 projects in its portfolio including Ascott at the Fort. The pieces go through multiple quality testing and are of the European Standard Class 1 — they contain no harmful chemicals and are environment-friendly.

“We design the space that you want and provide all the solutions you need to enjoy your space,” says merchandising manager Jackson Cue.

The showroom at Market! Market! in BGC offers interior layout consultations for free with its in-house interior designers not just to help you pick furniture but also to plan your space, because all too often homeowners buy furniture and accessories without a clear idea of where to put them or how to do the layout, resulting in more expense and pieces that never get used.

The designers get to know you first and how the space will be used by the family before suggesting pieces to reflect your personality and fulfill practical needs. After making your selection, SB will deliver the pieces and its technical specialists will install them.

“We like it that our customers treat us like that stylish friend you always ask advice from for anything that has to do with your home. Someone who knows about design, who’s ready to help you with your vision and who makes the entire experience easy and fun,” says Cue.  “You can actually have your dream space all in one day, and make it last a long time.”

“For personal spaces, many have turned to SB Furniture for help in creating the home that speaks of who they are. SB is the friend who listens to you, and always considers what you want, above all else, when giving advice and makes the experience of furnishing your home much easier and enjoyable.”

Its wide-ranging collections include beds, dining tables, side tables, sofas, chairs, lamps, wardrobes, sofabeds, shelves and cabinets, storage solutions and sideboards.

Its collections are categorized into Eclectic Living, Luxury Italian, Modern Contemporary, Modern Classic, Modern Scandinavian, Modern Minimalist, and Vintage Romantic.

The brand launches new collections every quarter to provide inspiration for those who want to update their spaces.

This season, three of the new collections are Patisia, which features vintage pieces in a classic white palette; Scandi, which is all about being stylish and minimal, hallmarks of Scandinavian design; and Spazz, which is for city living with efficient storage solutions,

“SB wants to make the experience of putting together your perfect home hassle-free, and the brand works together with you from beginning to end to do just that. Browsing through any of the showrooms can already give you ideas, what with its extensive product lines for living, dining, bedroom, and entertainment areas,” says Cue. “The collections cover almost every aesthetic and we have the Condo Fit line for smaller spaces with big impact.”
