Homeowner gets last condo unit at DMCI Homes’ Stellar Place

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Bachelor Alan Barona considers himself a lucky homeowner at Stellar Place, and indeed he was.

In 2013, Barona was given the chance to buy the last condo unit available at this resort-themed residence located along Visayas Avenue in Quezon City. “I had already wanted to own a unit at Stellar Place even before DMCI Homes began its construction because of its open design,” he confesses. “One other thing I like about Stellar Place is that you can feel the outside within. You really won’t feel enclosed in the building.”

Barona was set to buy a pre-selling unit at Stellar Place when an unfortunate incident transpired within his family, which consequently delayed the plan. Finances stabilized only after a year, wherein he again contemplated on his readiness to get his own home and invest in a property. However, only one unit was left and there were four other buyers in the waiting list also vying for it. The unit was raffled off to the buyers’ brokers to choose who gets to buy the last unit, and luckily, Barona’s broker won.

In February, Barona was able to move in to his two-bedroom unit at 12-floor Magna, one of the three residential buildings at Stellar Place. The price, how the unit looked and what floor it was located did not matter; he was happy and satisfied. In fact, a sign on his door expresses that great feeling. It reads: Enter with a Smile!

Barona’s unit can effortlessly elicit smile from visitors, as his personal interior design with matching sunny disposition to boost, creates a friendly and homey atmosphere. The white painted walls, a brick wall with wine rack, hardwood dining table, fancy-aged lamps, amusing frames showing travel spots, and a couple of potted plants also enhance the relaxing vibe that the 43-year-old BPO executive says keeps him stress-free. The unit size fits Barona just right.

“Since I’m single and live alone, two bedrooms are perfect,” he says.

Barona turned the other bedroom into a mini office, where he would sometimes work when the weather is too bad or the traffic is too heavy to commute. Outside his unit, Barona enjoys the openness.

Magna and the six-story Vega and Claris buildings, which comprise Stellar Place, feature garden atriums, single-loaded corridors and breezeways that allow fresh air and sunlight to naturally ventilate and illuminate the building interiors. According to Barona, that refreshing indoor ambiance is usually what’s lacking in other condo buildings that he saw while home-hunting.

Complementing Stellar Place’s resort-style amenities are gardens, a function hall, fitness gym, and game area in the Magna building. Aside from high-quality units, Barona finds a beautiful community in Stellar Place with its amenities and facilities. In fact, even his niece drops by during Saturdays to enjoy a splash in the swimming pool.

The Barona family meets every weekend to have lunch or dinner in the home of the parents or siblings. When Alan is the host, he sometimes takes them to the Sky Lounge in the roof deck of Magna and prepares lunch there.

“The Sky Lounge is very nice. Whenever I get home from work in the afternoon, I also go there to see the beautiful sunset,” he says.

Barona says his dad, an engineer, was happy that he chose to live in a DMCI Homes community not only because it provides bigger condo units and a good location, but also because of its track record as a homebuilder. The triple-A property developer has 15 years of experience in building world-class, quality residential communities.
