Wines from St. Emilion & Margauz
Bibendum, Cebu’s premier wine shop hosted another wine-tasting event where friends and industry partners enjoyed over a dozen wines from the St.Emilion and Margauz vineyards of France.
Bibendum understands the value of exemplary quality: refrigerated containers and climate-controlled storage facilities, including vinecaves, are used to ensure optimum storage and holding conditions. At Bibendum Wines, one can try the wine prior to purchasing with their enomatic machine, which contains eight different kinds of wine. The first taste is free and the succeeding tasting portions are at a minimal amount.
To fully enjoy food with wine, here’s a short checklist.
Vegetables seldom present problems — Almost any wine, white or red depending on accompanying food or sauces is acceptable.
Dry white or light fruity reds work best with fish and cold meat — Roses or dry whites go well with white meat; as full-bodied whites or red wines are excellent with red meat.
Cheese and wine —White wines are normally better and the stronger the cheese the sweeter and stronger the wine should be. Fortified wines such as port and Madeira are often better with cheese.
It has often been said that the more wines you try, the more you will develop a taste for it — it’s as simple as that. So don’t just reach for that bottle of Australian chardonnay or Chilean cabernet — try new wines. Get tasting.
