Unique pieces at Zonta-Makati’s FilipinaZ Art & Fashion Fair
MANILA, Philippines - Empowering women, helping them recover from trauma and ending violence and abuse on them are some of the reasons why the ladies of Zonta Club of Makati & Environs Foundation holds its first “FilipinaZ Art and Fashion Fair” on Sept. 13 and14 at the Rockwell Tent in Rockwell Center, Makati City.
This one-time fund-raising event will give women in poor areas of Makati and Taguig access to educational, livelihood, medical, and psychosocial projects, while some 250 sexually abused girls aged six to 17 will continue to receive care at Marillac Hills in Muntinlupa City.
The Zontians have also gathered some of the most interesting exhibitors who offer sustainable, handmade, and one-of-a-kind pieces for the home, heart and head.
One of them is Art of Gold, which creates world class, hand-painted interior accents, many of which found their home in a number of boutique hotels and resorts in the country.
Among the products Art of Gold has include table cloths, placemat and napkin, guest towels and bar towels, cocktail napkins and coasters, bed runners, covers and comforters, wall hangings and decorative banners, pillow shams and duvet covers, wall canvases and murals, nursery linens and crib sets.
Locally crafted wooden products from sustainably farmed trees (not cut down from forests), make Sustainably Made pieces worth owning. Its range of products include practical glass holders, gadget stands, and one-of-a-kind bowls.
Art and crafts bonding between a mom and her son have produced some of the most beautiful hand-painted pieces for the home and body (wearable art). Since 2009, Connie and now 11-year-old Caxantino have kept their artistic collaboration alive through one-of-a-kind Happy Star Child products, including chairs, pillows, and other home accents.
Bacolod City-based Gigi Campos presents her handcrafted mosaic art pieces at the fair, some of which carry religious themes.
Check out The Olive Tree with its new designs for linens and pillows (Filipino motif with a twist), classic linens for formal dining, massive u-pillow and monogrammed towels.
Go green with fascinating Terrariums by Raab, whose designs of miniature environments cater to different tastes and needs. They are soothing and calming to look at after a long day at work.
There is something to discover right after eating on your plate if you use The Wareshop’s creatively designed ceramic dinner plates. Its classy Wonderland Set of plates is perfect for accessories or display, while its accessory dishes, posters and placemats are equally delightful with their surprising statements.
